HeyMilo AI raises $6M and ships three new hiring-agent types

HeyMilo AI has raised $6 million, led by Category Ventures, and used the round to ship three new agent types on top of its existing screening product: Candidate Recommendations, an AI Scenario Assessment agent, and a Notetaker. The company says it has now screened over a million candidates in production for staffing and enterprise clients including Randstad, WilsonHCG, and Neo Financial — real deployment volume rather than a pilot-stage claim.

The Scenario Assessment agent is the more interesting product decision here. Rather than continuing the industry's default of testing whether a candidate can solve a problem unaided, it explicitly evaluates how a candidate uses AI tools during the assessment. That's a meaningful shift in what "technical competency" means for a hiring pipeline in 2026: for a growing share of roles, working effectively with AI tooling is the actual job skill, not a shortcut to be screened out.

The Candidate Recommendations and Notetaker agents round out a fuller-funnel product — surfacing candidates automatically and capturing structured interview notes — rather than a single point assessment tool. That positions HeyMilo closer to a full AI-native recruiting layer than a narrow screening add-on, competing for a larger share of the hiring workflow.
