HireVue acquires Hireguide to strengthen its agentic hiring stack

HireVue is framing the acquisition around accelerating its push into agentic AI hiring — folding Hireguide's structured-interview tooling into HireVue's existing assessment and video-interview stack rather than running it as a separate product.

This is the second consolidation move from an assessment-platform incumbent in the past two weeks (alongside Employ's acquisition of Pillar), and it follows the same logic: rather than build every layer of an agentic hiring stack from scratch, the established players are buying smaller, more specialized tools and absorbing them. For a four-year-old startup like Hireguide, an acquisition by the market's most recognized video-interview brand is a fast, credible exit; for HireVue, it's a quicker path to structured-interview capability than building it in-house.
