Humanly raises $25M, pivots from recruiting software to on-demand candidate delivery

Source: GeekWire · Aug 5, 2026

Humanly has raised a $25 million Series B, bringing its total funding to $52 million, alongside a notable repositioning: rather than continuing purely as recruiting software sold to employers, the company is moving toward a service-as-a-software model that delivers pre-vetted, ready-to-hire candidates on demand. That's a direct play at the roughly $500 billion job-placement market — staffing and recruiting services — rather than the narrower recruiting-tools software category Humanly started in.

The pivot changes who the product is really for. Alongside the employer-facing delivery model, Humanly is also launching AI coaching aimed at job seekers themselves — a genuinely two-sided product where candidates get direct value (coaching, presumably interview prep and positioning help) rather than being purely the subject being evaluated. Building a job-seeker-facing product line is a materially different go-to-market motion than a pure B2B recruiting tool, and if it works it gives Humanly a proprietary pipeline of engaged, coached candidates feeding its placement side.

The shift from "software you use to hire" to "we deliver you hired candidates" is a broader pattern worth watching across the category: several AI recruiting companies are converging on outcome-based delivery models rather than staying pure tools vendors, which changes both their margin profile and how directly they compete with traditional staffing firms.

Humanly's coaching and candidate-delivery model generates exactly the kind of structured, evaluated human interaction data (candidate coaching sessions, screening conversations, placement outcomes) that's relevant to our licensing business, on top of Humanly being a plausible customer for that same kind of data.

Key Points

  • $25M Series B, bringing total funding to $52M
  • Repositioning from recruiting software toward a service-as-a-software model
  • New focus: delivering pre-vetted, ready-to-hire candidates on demand, targeting the ~$500B job-placement market
  • Also launching AI coaching aimed at job seekers, not just the companies hiring them
